Job Summary
Design and simulate low-noise circuits for sensors, complete board layout and electrical characterization, and select components for specialized electronics used in SpaceX vehicles. Perform circuit and device testing while leveraging software development skills in Matlab, Python, or C/C++. This role supports the Sensor Development team's mission to design innovative sensing solutions critical for making life on Mars possible. Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Experience designing and testing electronic circuits
- Experience interfacing with microcontrollers for measurement and/or control applications
- Experience with PCB assembly process
- Extended hours and weekend work
- U.S. citizen or national
- U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder)
- Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157
- Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158
- Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in circuit design
- Experience with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, signal generators, DAQs, spectrum analyzers, and RF test equipment
- Knowledge of sensing technologies/sensing mechanisms
