Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer at Salas O’Brien will design various electrical systems, including DCS control systems, PLC control systems, low voltage power distribution, and process controls design for industrial and utility infrastructure. Responsibilities include executing projects from conceptual design to completion, performing calculations for electrical systems, designing in compliance with the National Electric Code, preparing instrumentation datasheets, and participating in design reviews. The role necessitates collaboration with engineers, project managers, and vendors and requires travel up to 20% to client locations.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or the foreign degree equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in the design of electrical systems for various types of industrial manufacturing facilities and utility infrastructure spaces
- Experience with industrial instrumentation and controls
- PE license or willing to pursue obtaining your Professional Engineers license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCSs) is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT is preferred
