Job Summary
Electrical Engineer provides technical support for maintenance and production, coordinates electrical activities across hot end, coatings, cold end, facilities and grounds at the Ottawa site to ensure efficient production and controlled maintenance costs; drives cost reductions and process improvements by evaluating and implementing projects, improves existing designs with engineering staff, analyzes electrical supply and control systems, programs or modifies software for cost reductions and process improvements, supervises contractors and in-plant personnel on projects, maintains CAD/document control for electrical drawings, ensures electrical safety integration with new/modified designs, and adheres to company standards and training requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must be able to read electrical schematics and relay ladder schematics
- Must have CAD proficiency and document organization skills
- Should understand high voltage circuits (above 480 volts) and safety-related issues
