Job Summary
Lead the technical execution of multiple PV and BESS projects by establishing design bases, developing site layouts, and creating construction drawing packages that meet regulatory standards. Prepare or oversee Bills of Materials and quantity takeoffs using AutoCAD and Excel, while generating site plans, electrical layouts, and supporting design documentation. Review junior designers' work, provide redline markups, and coach team members on technical improvements to ensure constructability and quality compliance. Collaborate closely with civil, structural, and project management teams to deliver innovative renewable energy solutions across North America. Work on utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects that are helping shape the future of clean energy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 2+ years of experience supporting PV, BESS, or electrical design projects
- Experience with PV and BESS system design and construction submittal development
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and other engineering design software
- Understanding of technical documentation, wire schedules, electrical layouts, and system schematics
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical design standards
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and power system concepts
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review drawings for quality and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting project deadlines
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring junior team members and continuously improving engineering processes
