Job Summary
Electrical Engineer with a focus on full-lifecycle electrical design for low voltage systems, sensor integration, and harness development supporting US Navy submarine weapon system programs. Responsibilities include leading design efforts from concept to on-site commissioning, creating wiring diagrams and harness drawings, performing power budgeting and signal integrity analyses, conducting design reviews (PDR/CDR), coordinating with vendors and fabrication partners, and providing field support during installation and testing. Requires ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, 3+ years of relevant experience, ability to obtain Secret clearance, and proficiency with CAD/EDA tools (AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, Zuken or equivalent). The role combines office design work with on-site field presence, with up to ~33% travel, and is based on-site in California and Indiana as well as in Edmonds, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Systems Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering experience in circuit/design and lifecycle management
- US Government Secret Clearance (ability to obtain/maintain)
- Citizenship required for Secret Clearance
- CAD/EDA tools proficiency (AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, Zuken, or similar)
- Experience with low voltage systems, sensor integration, and wiring harness design
- Strong communication skills and ability to document and present technical information
- Ability to work in field environments and travel ~33%
- Ability to read and produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings
- Experience leading design reviews (PDR/CDR) and coordinating with vendors
- Knowledge of safety/design standards (NFPA 70E, MIL-STD-461, MIL-HDBK-522)
- Preferred: PE license or EIT, ruggedized/defense-grade systems experience
- Background in aerospace/defense/shipboard/energy programs
