Electrical Engineer - Overhead Lines (OHL)

Job Summary
Conduct design activities for overhead line transmission projects up to 400kV, including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, sag-tension calculations, and clearance reports. Support feasibility studies by performing conductor thermal ratings and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client design management processes. Deliver engineering outputs such as complex designs, reports, proposals, and drawing packages while maintaining safety, health, and environmental quality standards. Present technically preferred solutions to clients and adhere to AECOM and client-specific regulations. This role is part of the Transmission & Distribution team working on major infrastructure initiatives like the National Grid's 'Great Grid Upgrade'.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, electrical engineering or power engineering
- Experience working within electrical design projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE and SPT in line with each operator's standards
- Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
