Job Summary
Undertake design activities for major overhead line projects up to 400kV, including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, sag-tension calculations, and conductor selection. Support feasibility studies by performing conductor thermal ratings and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client design management processes. Deliver engineering outputs such as complex designs, reports, proposals, and drawing packages while maintaining safety, health, and environmental quality standards. This role contributes to the National Grid's 'Great Grid Upgrade' within AECOM's Transmission & Distribution team, offering hybrid work flexibility and access to technical practice networks.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, electrical engineering or power engineering
- Experience working within electrical design projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE and SPT in line with each operator's standards
- Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
