Job Summary
Lead technical support and design for major overhead transmission projects up to 400kV, including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, and sag-tension calculations. Conduct feasibility studies, thermal ratings, and clearance reports to identify preferred layouts and ensure compliance with industry standards and client design processes. Deliver complex engineering outputs such as design criteria, loading trees, and drawing packages while maintaining safety, environmental, and quality protocols. Work directly with clients on ground-breaking infrastructure initiatives like the National Grid's 'Great Grid Upgrade' within a multi-disciplinary Transmission & Distribution team.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, electrical engineering or power engineering
- Experience working within electrical design projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE and SPT in line with each operator's standards
- Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
