Job Summary
Conduct electrical engineering design, analysis, and testing of USCG aviation wiring interconnect systems to enhance aircraft reliability and safety. Investigate failure discrepancies, compute load analyses, and develop corrective design changes while reviewing engineering drawings for compliance with industry standards. Provide technical expertise on wiring harness design, corrosion prevention, and Quality Assurance, collaborating with program managers to research and prototype improved EWIS products. Record tasking, attend required meetings, and present findings to USCG personnel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Ability to acquire a Secret clearance
- Be skilled in the use of standard and specialized electrical and electronic tools and equipment of the discipline as they pertain to aviation wiring without regard to aircraft type
- Have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Proficient personal computer skills to include a strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office suite of products
- Have in-depth knowledge of the NA VAIR 0l-1A-505(series), NA VAIR 0l-IA509-3, and SAE AS50881
- Have a solid knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) concerns on the aircraft in accordance with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464
- Have experience in aircraft electrical load and power source capacity analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-704 and MIL-E-7016
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- The degree shall be from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) college
- Minimum often (10) years of experience in aviation (rotary and/or fixed wing aircraft) electrical engineering
- Travel as required for tasking JAW 11.0 of the contract
- Travel within the Continental U.S. (CONUS), Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico during the performance of this task order
- Team Member must complete background investigation of at least a Tier I (formerly called a NACI) to comply with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12
