Job Summary

Electrical Engineer leading the development of complete electrical design packages (schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and BOMs) for low- and medium-voltage control equipment, ensuring compliance with IEEE/ANSI/NEMA/UL standards and client specifications. Responsibilities include collaboration with manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and field service teams; leading client-facing technical communications; coordinating with estimators on job size and feasibility; building vendor relationships; providing production support and witness testing; mentoring junior designers and engineers; and contributing to new product development and process improvements. The role requires 3+ years of relevant design experience with switchgear, expertise in power distribution and control systems, proficiency in AutoCAD and Promis*E, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (PE license preferred). Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • 3+ years of electrical engineering design with switchgear in marine, heavy industrial, and oil & gas sectors
  • 1+ years of electro-mechanical power system design including low/medium voltage distribution, motor control centers, controls integration, and arc flash protection
  • Experience with marine, oil & gas, or energy sector projects (preferred)
  • Familiarity with generator controls, protective relays, short-circuit/coordination studies, and complex system integration
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Promis*E (and related electrical CAD tools)
  • Ability to read client-supplied job specifications and one-line diagrams to develop design criteria
  • Strong knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, UL electrical standards
  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare technical documentation and present to internal teams and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead cross-functional collaboration
