Job Summary
Join Barr as a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer focused on Substation Power Systems, where you will perform power system studies using ETAP, SKM, and PSCAD while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Key responsibilities include managing tasks, coaching and mentoring staff, and providing technical leadership to meet client needs. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, 5 years of experience, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one. Strong interpersonal communication skills and project management expertise are essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of codes, standards, laws, and regulations
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
- Experience with AutoCAD and basic Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word)
- Possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience at a consulting engineering, electric utility, or industrial company
- Background and skills related to PLC and HMI programming and commissioning
- Experience related to electrical installations in hazardous areas
