Job Summary
Complete electrical designs for firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers and teammates. Provide design calculations, drawings, and specifications for medium/low voltage power distribution, grounding, lighting, lightning protection, communications, and electrical equipment including switchboards and switchgear. Assist with multidiscipline project designs, scope evaluations, and site investigations to meet project requirements. Support companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes while communicating with internal and external clients. Travel to sites and meet with sub-consultants, utilities, and other parties. Engage in the intraoffice staff utilization program to grow skills with the international MEI team and Senior Engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in the State of California or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 18 months of hire
- 6 to 10+ years of related experience in Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
- 6 to 10+ years of related experience in Grounding systems
- 6 to 10+ years of related experience in Lighting systems
- 6 to 10+ years of related experience in Communications systems
- 6 to 10+ years of related experience in Electrical equipment design and specifications (including switchboards and switchgear)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Ability to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
- Legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire
