Electrical Engineer - MEP

Job Summary
Conduct engineering assignments involving conventional plans and specifications, preparing design calculations, equipment/material specifications, and graphical representations for construction documents. Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed project phases while reviewing work for sound professional judgment. Investigate limited variables and supervise or coordinate designers and technical support personnel on unusual problems. Manage facility design projects across lighting, power, grounding, and controls systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-standard software. Apply knowledge of applicable codes and perform design calculations to support commercial, industrial, and governmental building projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- Five+ years' experience in electrical engineering or the equivalent thereof
- Proficient with MS Office software; including MS Word, Excel; AutoCAD and/or Microstation; and Building Information Management (BIM) Revit
- Experience with SKM, EasyPower, or EDSA software
- Experience in lighting, power, grounding, lightning protection, signal, communication, controls and fire detection systems designs
- Experience in performing design calculations and preparing equipment or material specifications
- Experience with all phases of project management and production
- Experience in budgeting, scheduling, planning facility design projects
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical and design codes
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills to peers, managers, and clients
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-track environment
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Valid NM drivers' license required
Desired Qualifications
- Professional registration as a licensed electrical engineer preferred
- PE registration in the State of New Mexico preferred
- LEED Accredited Professional certification a plus
