Job Summary
Electrical Engineer to design and integrate electrical systems powering Lumafield's industrial CT scanners. Responsibilities include circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, bringing up boards, testing, and system integration; developing test scripts and firmware for factory tools and prototypes; collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers to deliver integrated systems at targeted price/performance; supporting designs from prototyping through to production at Lumafield's Cambridge, MA facility. Qualified candidates will have experience with ECAD tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor, KiCad), debugging board-level protocols (I2C, SPI, USB), basic MCU firmware, and programming with Python, C, and Linux; a portfolio of electronics projects is encouraged. Bonus points for experience with X-ray systems, thermal management for high-power PCBs, and familiarity with product safety standards (UL, IEC).
Required Qualifications
- ECAD software experience (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, Mentor, KiCad)
- Experience debugging board-level communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB)
- Basic familiarity with MCU firmware development
- Proficiency in Python, C, Linux
- Experience bringing up boards, testing and system integration
- Ability to develop test scripts and firmware for factory tools and prototypes
- Collaborative experience with cross-disciplinary engineering teams
- Portfolio of electronics projects (preferred)
