Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

Assist in all facets of system and event delivery, including onsite field setup, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting for robotic camera systems during live sporting events. Troubleshoot, resolve, and document remote live event technical needs while identifying and designing solutions to alleviate field issues. Direct lead and instruct field personnel on proper equipment use, setup, and tear-down procedures. Manage technical groups to deliver on-time maintenance schedules, new designs, and refurbishments. Prepare and update technical manuals, troubleshooting guides, and operating procedures. This role supports SkyCam's mission to change live event broadcasting through mobile aerial camera systems. Candidates must work nights, weekends, and holidays with potential for 40% travel, maintaining valid US Passport and driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in EE, CE, ME, IE, or similar from ABET accredited college
  • 3 years' experience in engineering, field engineering, or engineering for management role
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Prior experience in live-event, field technical operations
  • Potential for 40% travel
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. up to 1/3 of time
  • Valid Driver's license
  • US Passport
  • Ability to solve real-world problems with creative timely solutions
  • Industrial, PLC, HMI and servo motor controls systems
  • computer and electronic communications systems
  • optical communications systems (fiber) and electrical networks (TCP/IP/ UDP, serial)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the principles, terminology, tools, and equipment utilized in television production/broadcast engineering
  • Excellent understanding of electrical theory
  • Self-Starter- ability to work and manage multiple projects and differing timelines simultaneously
  • Ability to work in of short-term delivery windows and tight turnarounds, including nights weekends and Holidays
  • Where there is a will there is way attitude
  • Understanding of broadcast engineering in the context of television network operations
  • Understanding of automation and control systems, pan/tilt, and gimbaled systems
  • Ability to perform both small scale in-house and board-house circuit design
  • Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and concisely in dynamic and stressful situations
  • Ability to troubleshoot, make quick decisions, and execute resolutions quickly in dynamic situations

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for experience
