Job Summary
Design electrical and control systems for process technologies like reverse osmosis and media filtration by reviewing bids, creating bills of material, and developing customized automation programs. Create electrical drawings and control panel layouts, then perform system simulation, start-up assistance, and testing of automated machinery. Provide automation support across departments and train Field Service Technicians while upgrading existing devices with new automation elements. Occasional travel under 20% to customer locations for programming and training is required. Maintain professional knowledge through service trainings and workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in industrial automation
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, RS Linx, RS Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, FactoryTalk View, etc.)
- Strong PLC and HMI programming skills
- Ability to design, read and comprehend technical drawings
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and co-workers
- Careful attention to detail, with strong commitment to accuracy and quality
- Well organized and conducts self professionally
- Travels <20% to customer locations to assist with system programming and for training purposes
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Two to five years of related experience and/or training
- Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or Modicon
