Job Summary
Lead the design of electrical systems from conceptual planning through construction documentation; develop and evaluate electrical solutions with sound engineering judgment and creative problem-solving; perform detailed electrical analyses and calculations to support design decisions; coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to maintain design intent throughout construction; review and apply applicable codes and standards; provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers; support quality control reviews and ensure consistency with internal design standards; manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule and budget; participate in construction administration activities, including RFIs and reviewing submittals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in building electrical design
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where the role is based
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and controls, grounding/bonding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with power system analysis software and lighting calculation tools
- Ability to independently manage design efforts with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadline-driven workloads across multiple projects
