Job Summary
Analyze, plan, and assess project feasibility with Product Management and Sales while writing functional and performance requirement specifications. Execute detailed electronics and electrical design for PC board assemblies, wiring, and cable assemblies, then manage prototype fabrication, testing, and embedded software development. Conduct pre-compliance testing for agency standards like UL, CSA, and CE, coordinate with labs, and investigate field equipment failures to determine root causes. Assist purchasing vendors, resolve production line issues, and provide technical training for product installation and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4-7 years of experience in a product development / manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of electronics design
- Proficient at Schematic Capture
- Working knowledge of embedded software; assembly and C programming
- Working knowledge of PLC programming or willingness to learn
- Experience with global Safety and EMC compliance; UL / CSA / CE
- Knowledge of Engineering documentation practices
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills
- Skilled in the use of PC applications including and MS Office
- Ability to work independently or with a team
