Job Summary
Analyze project feasibility with Product Management and Sales, then draft functional and performance requirement specifications. Lead detailed electronics and electrical design for PC board assemblies, wiring, and cable assemblies, while managing prototype fabrication, testing, and embedded software development. Coordinate pre-compliance testing with agencies like UL, CSA, and CE, and support purchasing and vendor management. Investigate field equipment failures to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions, while assisting with production line issues and writing operating instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4-7 years of experience in a product development / manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of electronics design
- Proficient at Schematic Capture
- Working knowledge of embedded software; assembly and C programming
- Working knowledge of PLC programming or willingness to learn
- Experience with global Safety and EMC compliance; UL / CSA / CE
- Knowledge of Engineering documentation practices
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills
- Skilled in the use of PC applications including and MS Office
- Ability to work independently or with a team
