Job Summary
Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op position focused on hands-on training in electrical design for building projects. Learn and implement electrical system basics (power, power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm systems) for new construction and renovation, produce detailed layouts and equipment details, create one-line diagrams/schematics, assemble organized sets of drawings, and assist in data collection and field verification. Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project under the guidance of Professional Engineers, with exposure to AutoCAD and REVIT and opportunities for multiple co-op rotations and potential future employment. Onsite, full-time role starting around August 2026, with overtime eligibility and travel to local job sites; no immigration sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering
- Sophomore (2nd year) or Junior (3rd year) preferred
- Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering
- AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to work full time in the Columbus office throughout the co-op term
- Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.
