Job Summary
Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op Fall 2026 offering hands-on training in electrical design within CMTA’s engineering team. Learn and implement electrical system basics (power, distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm systems) for new constructions and renovations, produce detailed layouts and equipment details, generate one-line diagrams/schematics, assist in assembling organized drawing sets, and collaborate with designers and engineers on all project aspects. The role emphasizes team collaboration, on-site field verification, and training by Professional Engineers using AutoCAD and REVIT, with full-time onsite work in the Columbus area during the co-op term and potential for multiple rotations and future full-time employment upon graduation.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year) or a junior (3rd year)
- Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering
- AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to work full time in the Columbus office throughout the co-op term
- Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.
