Job Summary
Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of utility T&D/substation project experience, on-site in Oakland, CA. Responsible for developing electrical design packages (single line diagrams, equipment layouts, grounding, conduit/cable schedules, lighting), performing power-system studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc flash), and sizing/specifying equipment (transformers, switchgear, protective relays). Collaborates across disciplines to ensure design integration, reviews and issues IFC deliverables, supports RFIs, and coordinates with the client’s engineering standards groups within an EPC/EPCM delivery framework. A PE license is strongly preferred; EIT candidates actively pursuing PE will be considered. Requires on-site work at the Oakland office; relocation is required if not within commuting distance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience on utility T&D or substation capital projects
- Experience working within an EPC or EPCM project delivery environment
- Proficiency in ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD, or MicroStation
- Demonstrated experience producing engineering deliverables for substation design, transmission line design, or distribution system engineering
- Familiarity with NESC, NEC, IEEE, and NERC standards
- Must be able to work full-time on-site at the Oakland office
