Job Summary
Design high-voltage substation Protection & Control systems for AIS and GIS substations by preparing and reviewing design drawings, relay settings, and protection philosophies. Ensure deliverables comply with IEEE, NERC, NEC, and NESC standards while supporting project planning, technical coordination, and QA/QC for design packages. Provide training to junior engineers and attend FATs, inspections, and site support as needed. Assist with utility coordination and interconnection processes for renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and battery storage. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and PE license preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in power system engineering, substation protection and controls, transmission planning, or renewable energy integration
- Experience with high-voltage substation P&C design including relays, batteries, chargers, SCADA interfaces, and control panels
- Familiarity with power system analysis software such as PSSE, ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, or similar tools
- Experience performing power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis
- Working knowledge of industry standards including IEEE, NERC, NEC, and NESC
- Experience supporting utility coordination and interconnection processes for energy projects
- Experience with networking devices and communication configuration
- Experience with ASPEN
- Experience with relay settings
- Ability to manage technical deliverables while supporting project schedules and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and technical documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain
- Experience supporting utility coordination and interconnection processes for renewable energy projects including solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems
