Job Summary
Lead electrical design and development of power panels, control panels, and wire harnesses for air-cooled chiller products, ensuring compliance with UL/NEC/CSA/CE standards. Develop and communicate control strategies to software engineering teams using flowcharts and state diagrams; provide technical leadership across engineering, lab, production, product management, service, and application teams. Design electrical systems, select components, and integrate into chillers; define test criteria and support validation efforts to improve reliability and efficiency. Drive root cause analysis from testing and field feedback, prepare engineering documentation, and lead design reviews. Travel up to 15% and collaborate across global teams, with hybrid work from Plano, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering within product development (HVAC or industrial equipment preferred)
- Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, control circuitry, and system integration
- Proficiency in interpreting and developing control logic for embedded systems and PLC-based environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical components such as motors, VFDs (inverter drives), soft starters, contactors, and circuit protection devices
- Experience working with regulatory standards including UL, NEC, CSA, and CE
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts and collaborate cross-functionally
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to translate complex concepts across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational and project management skills
Additional Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder)
- Willingness to travel up to 15%, including occasional international travel
