Electrical Engineer III (PE Required) - Data Center Load Management

Job Summary

Design electrical systems and perform design calculations for data centers, industrial buildings, and commercial projects. Review and seal projects, manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders, while preparing record drawings and conducting site visits and inspections. Lead commissioning work, write equipment specifications, and select devices to ensure projects complete accurately, within deadlines, and on budget. Coordinate with staff, clients, and vendors across multiple disciplines, with travel to job sites for observations and meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Professional Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Valid Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience in load planning
  • Coding experience
  • Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing facilities, medical buildings, or other large commercial projects
  • Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
  • Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment power requirements, including large scale standby and emergency power system, including interactive generator controls systems
  • Experienced in producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies
  • Experienced with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
  • Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit
  • Candidates residing in the following states: AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, IN, MI, MO, NV, OH, OK, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Employment eligibility will be verified as required by law
  • Employment may be contingent upon the successful completion of background checks, drug testing, and other pre-employment requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Understands or is interested in learning programming
  • Experience in load planning and programming a plus
  • Coding experience a plus
  • Experienced in producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies is preferred
  • Experienced with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications is preferred
  • Experience designing electrical systems and performing design calculations
  • Review, signing and sealing of projects
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections and participation in commissioning work
  • Writing and editing of electrical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, electrical systems and devices
  • Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines and on budget
  • Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings
  • Highly collaborative amongst Meade staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines
