Job Summary

Design and validate electrical control systems for robotic actuators, including rotary and linear motion solutions for humanoid and industrial applications. Develop actuator control architectures for DC, BLDC, servo, and stepper motors while creating electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs. Select and integrate sensors such as encoders, IMUs, and force/torque devices, then develop embedded firmware for real-time motion control. Implement closed-loop control algorithms, optimize performance, and integrate communication protocols including CAN, EtherCAT, and Ethernet. Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and testing to troubleshoot electrical, EMI/EMC, and reliability issues. Lead electrical engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle from concept to production support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support prototype development and system integration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical product development and design
  • Robotic actuator systems (servo, BLDC, stepper, and linear actuators)
  • Embedded C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Strong foundation in motor control, microcontrollers, power electronics and PCB design
  • Sensor fusion and calibration
  • CAN/CANopen, EtherCAT, Modbus, SPI, I²C, UART
  • Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and other laboratory test equipment
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Ability to coordinate and organize program deliverables from multiple sources and customers
  • Effective interpersonal skills with internal and external customers
  • Excellent verbal and technical communication skills required
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to work in a test lab environment
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 20 lbs
  • Frequent walking, standing, and bending as needed to perform duties
