Job Summary

Lead development of mission-critical spacecraft electronics hardware for Ranger missions, including analog/digital/power electronics, schematic capture, PCB design, bring-up, and validation. Collaborate across systems teams (FPGA, software, mechanical, propulsion, thermal) to define and integrate spacecraft electronics architectures, support FPGA integration with AMD and Microsemi devices, lead design reviews, and drive DFMs to enable flight hardware delivery and production readiness. Utilize ECAD tools (Cadence/Altium) and develop electronics solutions for avionics, communications, propulsion, and power distribution, with emphasis on high-reliability, space-environment hardware and associated verification campaigns. Maintain technical documentation and participate in major development reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR).

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of experience developing electronics hardware for spacecraft environments
  • Strong proficiency with Cadence or Altium
  • Experience designing analog, digital, and power electronics
  • Direct experience integrating AMD and Microsemi FPGA-based systems
  • Experience designing mixed-signal, timing-critical, multi-layer PCBs
  • Experience leading schematic and hardware design reviews
  • Strong understanding of design-for-manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience designing spacecraft communication interfaces (RS-422/485, LVDS, SpaceWire, Gigabit Ethernet, IO, I2C, SPI)
  • Experience managing PCB(A) manufacturers and external vendors
  • Ability deriving component- and assembly-level requirements from subsystem or spacecraft-level requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting and hardware integration capability
  • Comfortable in fast-paced iterative spacecraft development environment
