Job Summary
Prepare design computations, quantity estimates, and probable construction cost estimates for medium voltage power distribution, low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and backup power generation projects. Utilize computer-assisted engineering software like AutoCAD and Revit to prepare engineering documents, modify specifications and plans, and create specialized electrical riser diagrams. Perform lighting calculations, power distribution calculations, and equipment sizing while researching code issues and documenting design options for the Project Designer/Engineer. Maintain organized work areas and ensure all drawings comply with company production standards. Keep the Project Manager informed of workload changes and scope adjustments.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of previous engineering/design experience in the building design industry
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year College or University
- Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD/Revit)
- General knowledge of Electrical system design and applicable codes
- Must be available for field work and attend activities at client sites in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other 'non-administrative' areas
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
