Electrical Engineer II (Inverters), Operations Engineering

Job Summary
Provide engineering support for operational issues of the utility-scale solar and storage fleet inverters by analyzing parts usage, inspection results, and SCADA data. Lead root cause investigations, assess component damage, and provide repair or troubleshooting dispositions while developing capabilities for in-house repair teams. Collaborate with cross-functional groups to resolve performance issues and interface with equipment manufacturers to develop best operating practices. Evaluate electrical drawings, arc flash studies, and pilot new equipment or processes to maximize fleet performance and reliability.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with strong electrical experience, or similar degree
- 2-4+ years of experience in engineering, systems integration, or technical support roles, preferably with 1-3+ years of directly relevant experience or Advanced Degree
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to independently manage projects and drive initiatives
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Some travel is required (<20%)

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with PV or BESS Systems
- Degree concentration in Power Systems or Renewable Energy Systems
- Understanding of Electrical Safety Practices
- Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, ASCE and ANSI/IEEE standards and codes
- Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Software
- Experience with Data Analysis and Visualization tools (PowerBI, PI Data Historian, Python, etc.)
