Electrical Engineer II - Fire Alarm Engineer

Job Summary

Design intermediate to advanced fire alarm systems and perform computations for mission-critical data center projects under senior supervision. Produce construction documents, including air sampling smoke detection systems, using AutoCAD and Revit while coordinating with other disciplines. Assist in pre-construction activities by surveying sites and preparing technical reports, then review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and manage punch lists during construction. Prepare project specifications and progress reports for stakeholders while leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows. Collaborate with the project management team remotely, serving as a trade lead on limited-scope projects and acting as a primary client contact when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical from ABET accredited institution
  • Minimum of three years of electrical engineering / fire alarm design experience
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical systems found in buildings including basic circuiting and life safety systems
  • Knowledge of codes and specifications for the design of fire alarm systems including NFPA 72, National Electric Code, Life Safety and Building Codes
  • Skilled at producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in performing code analysis including local requirements, selection of equipment, wiring, etc. to meet code requirements
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Approximately 10% travel to any or all 50 US states
