Job Summary
Electrical Engineer on a government-focused team performing code enforcement reviews and inspections for electrical systems, including power generators, UPS, life-safety/mission-critical power, EV infrastructure, and related equipment. Responsibilities include code enforcement design/reviews, site surveys, inspections, commenting on submittals, developing code-related guidance, preparing reports, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards. Requires ABET-accredited bachelor's in electrical engineering, 10+ years of relevant experience, NFPA 70/NEC, UFC experience, PE license or ICC examiner certification, U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance, and willingness to work in a Hybrid Arlington, VA environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET-accredited college or university in electrical engineering or a related field
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience
- At least 10 years of experience conducting reviews of design and construction documentation for electrical systems
- At least 10 years of experience with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, National Electric Code
- At least 5 years of experience with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or ICC Certified Electrical Plans Examiner
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- Proficiency with construction project management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to travel to various construction sites
- Knowledge of federal building codes, standards, and safety practices
