Job Summary

Electrical Engineer specializing in highway lighting and electrical infrastructure design. Lead electrical design projects and highway lighting system development, including electrical control systems for movable bridge operations and power distribution for roadway facilities. Develop wiring diagrams and perform field inspections; assist with startup procedures for highway lighting and movable bridge control systems. Mentor junior engineers and apply CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and electrical software (AGI32/Visual Lighting, SKM) to support design and analysis. Hybrid work environment with offices in Edwardsville, IL and St. Louis, MO; PE licensure targeted within 4 years and security background checks required for access to client facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Engineering with a concentration in Electrical from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Minimum 4 years highway lighting and electrical infrastructure design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of residency is preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain PE within 4 years of hire
  • Decorative lighting design experience a plus
  • Experience with photometric lighting calculation software (AGI32 or Visual Lighting)
  • Strong mentoring ability for junior engineers
  • Familiarity with sizing conductors, circuit breakers, transformers, and conduits for single and three phase circuits; ability to perform voltage drop and fault current calculations
  • Preferred experience in a consultant engineering environment
  • Preferred CAD experience (AutoCAD, MicroStation)
  • Preferred SKM Power Tools experience for electrical calculations and arc flash hazard analysis
  • Ability to pass a security background check after hire
  • Physical capability to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms
  • Good command of English (oral and written)
  • Relevant coursework in Electrical Power, Industrial Controls, Electric Motors
