Job Summary
Lead and supervise the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, scientists, designers and drafters on a global project/assignment. Represent the discipline with the client to resolve technical questions and coordinate work. Plan, develop, coordinate, and review engineering work within a discipline; conduct annual performance reviews and career development discussions; coordinate staff additions, terminations, transfers, and salary changes as needed. Prepare or oversee discipline estimates and work plans aligned to project scope, schedule, and budget; manage staffing, scheduling, and assignment of work to meet milestones. Coordinate with client representatives for phase approvals; review and approve key engineering drawings and calculations (field and design documents); ensure on-the-job training for professional development; promote a constructive, open, and collaborative work environment emphasizing openness, trust, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. Education/Experience: degree in engineering or scientific discipline, or professional license, or specialized courses; broad progressive work experience in related engineering domains. Required Qualifications
- Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited college or university or professional license in an appropriate discipline or specialized courses in relevant general engineering or science or an appropriate engineering discipline
- Broad progressive work experience in design engineering, science or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or engineering/construction firms
- Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computers in the discipline
- Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods
- Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the discipline
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Demonstrated skill in leadership
- Knowledge of CAD tools (2-D and 3-D) and related design practices
- Experience coordinating with client representatives and reviewing/approving engineering drawings and calculations
