Job Summary
Design, simulate, and test power converter hardware using state-of-the-art engineering tools, then build and operate test setups for component validation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to advance power conversion technology, develop test plans for performance validation, and procure laboratory equipment. Partner with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with product strategy and communicate technical findings to stakeholders. Engage with commercial, industrial, and government partners to advance collaborative initiatives, traveling to facilities as needed. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with three years of relevant experience and proficiency in 3D CAD and simulation tools. On-site position in Niskayuna, New York, with a salary range of $80,000 to $120,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 relevant industry experience
- Proven ability to design, simulate, build, and test power electronics hardware
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling tools
- U.S. work authorization
- On-site position based in Niskayuna, New York
- Must be 18 years or older
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of experience designing power electronics hardware
- Background in R&D and product development environments
- Experience in manufacturing, testing, and certification of electrical hardware
- Proficiency with single-line diagrams and 3D CAD tools
- Proficiency with simulation tools (e.g., PSpice, LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS)
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards, including PPE requirements and basic lifesaving rules
- Strong presentation, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
