Job Summary
Electrical Engineer for CRB focused on design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, and building support electrical systems for life sciences facilities. Responsible for overseeing the Electrical discipline scope, managing budgets on small to medium projects, coordinating with architects/engineers, clients, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers. Tasks include power load calculations, illumination, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, basis of design reports, code evaluations, one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, specifications, and BIM-based design using Revit/AutoCAD. Involves directing design activities across studies to construction administration, supporting RFI responses, submittals, punch lists, and progress reports, developing construction drawings/packages and construction specifications, and mentoring less experienced engineers. Requires ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering (or related) and 3-5+ years of experience; travel for client development and project execution; experience with GMP manufacturing environments and proficiency with MS Office tools and BIM software. Required Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 3-5+ years of experience
- Relevant AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm experience
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Intermediate knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments
- Intermediate experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing electrical lighting, power and special systems design
- Intermediate experience with using and applying electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, and/or IEEE)
- Basic experience with using and applying applicable building codes
- Proficient with intermediate internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination
- Proficient with intermediate coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers
- Proficient at intermediate electrical lighting, power and special systems design calculations with limited supervision
- Intermediate experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and providing support of field reporting
- Basic experience with troubleshooting issues with electrical equipment and systems
- Ability to travel for client development and project execution, and internal and external training opportunities
