Job Summary
In this Electrical Engineer role at Cleveland-Cliffs' Middletown Works, you will provide critical technical support within the Steelmaking department, focusing on the design and engineering of electrical systems for both new and existing equipment. Responsibilities include managing power distribution, applying root-cause analysis to resolve equipment issues, developing and implementing preventive maintenance procedures, and collaborating with operations to ensure alignment with reliability expectations. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have at least 3 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 3 years of experience with electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems
- Ability and willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, including potential on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Co-Op or related experience in electrical system design, programming, and commissioning of industrial equipment
- Experience with 250V DC motor control and overhead crane control systems
- Knowledge of AC/DC motor drives
- Prior experience in the steelmaking process
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
