Job Summary
Electrical Engineer for Cisco 8000 product Ops responsible for electrical product engineering support from New Product Introduction to End of Life. Collaborates with design (hardware/mechanical), process, test, and reliability engineering to address DFM/DFX issues, drive cost avoidance and quality improvements, and lead value engineering in both NPI and sustaining phases. Responsibilities include BOM structuring and risk management, design and manufacturing FMEA, DOE/EFA, lab debugging and board bring-up, component selection influence, and documentation lifecycle management, with close cooperation across HW Engineering, Product Ops, GSM, Mfg Ops, and EMS partners.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 15+ years related experience
- Understanding of system hardware architectures and engineering development practices
- Experience with diagnostic tools and debugging down to board level and component level
- Proficiency with Allegro and Valor and other manufacturing tools
- Deep understanding of PCB fabrication and PCB assembly processes
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Design tools proficiency (Valor, schematic, CAD)
- Experience with design and manufacturing FMEA
- Ability to lead complex issue resolution and cross-functional collaboration
