Job Summary
Electrical Project Engineer responsibilities include leading electrical design for power distribution (medium/low voltage), generators, motor controls, VFDs, lighting, and equipment layout for water and wastewater facilities; prepare and edit project specifications; serve as lead electrical engineer on multiple projects with oversight of scope, schedule, and budget; perform site visits from concept to construction; perform AutoCAD/Revit design and power-system studies (Easypower or equivalents); conduct construction administration (shop drawings, RFIs, change orders) and assist in field start-up/testing; interact with clients, contractors, and other engineers; contribute to business development through proposals; develop scope/fee documents for electrical portions and fill the role of Project Manager on selected projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 5-14 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial electrical engineering and design
- Licensed as a registered professional engineer in at least one U.S. state
- Ability to be licensed in additional states at the request of the firm
- Experience with Easypower, SKM or ETAP power system software
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software
- Experience in Microsoft Office products
- Strong communication skills allowing for successful interaction with clients, contractors, and other engineers
