Job Summary
Electrical Engineer responsible for designing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects; develop electrical system designs (power distribution, lighting, control systems) and create detailed engineering documentation; coordinate with architects, mechanical/structural engineers, and trades; support VDC/BIM workflows to integrate designs into models; provide technical guidance to field teams; ensure NEC/NFPA and client code compliance; perform electrical calculations; review vendor submittals; participate in site visits, commissioning, startups, inspections; contribute to estimating, value engineering, and cost control; mentor junior engineers and coordinate with VDC teams and field personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally within construction, MEP, or industrial environments
- Proficiency with electrical engineering software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM coordination
- Familiarity with construction methods and materials, including raceways, conduit types, and wiring practices
- Solid understanding of NEC, electrical codes, and industry standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across design, field, and operations teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting project priorities
- Willingness to travel to project sites and occasionally work in field environments
