Job Summary
Primary electrical power engineer responsible for power system studies, design, testing, and troubleshooting across multiple industry sectors; performs power system analysis, testing, and on-site field activities; lead technical teams; familiarity with NEC/IEEE/ANSI standards; design experience with switchgear, transformers, motor-control centers; travel within North Carolina to support projects and client engagements; senior PSEs may lead projects as Engineer in Responsible Charge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from accredited university
- 3 - 7 years of cumulative experience in power engineering studies and design experience in industrial projects
- EIT certification or PE preferred
- Experience with electric power systems, short-circuit, protective coordination, load flow, motor-starting, arc flash hazard analysis
- Experience with project engineering proposals, project development, and customer presentations
- Experience with electrical design and network architectures, protection knowledge, electrical layout, and understanding plant/facility processes
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, electrical system analysis software experience preferred using SKM, Easypower and/or ETAP
- Available to travel within assigned state (NC)
- Engineering experience in a Consulting Engineering firm would be a strong asset
