Job Summary
Design, validate, and release vehicle wiring harnesses connecting Sabanto's autonomous control system to commercial agricultural equipment. Specify ideal wires, connectors, and protective sleeving based on performance and environmental requirements. Complete technical drawings including wiring diagrams, 2D bundle drawings, and 3D layouts. Manage fuse and circuit protection selection, EMI/EMC considerations, and manufacturer qualification. Own qualification and quality testing using diagnostic equipment while troubleshooting production issues. Perform component selection and inventory tracking for high-current power distribution, CAN, Ethernet, and RF assemblies. Requires on-site position in Ames, IA, with 5+ years of experience and familiarity with automotive processes.
Required Qualifications
- Will to work an on-site position based in Ames, IA
- Bachelors or higher in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years professional experience
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- An entrepreneurial attitude with a keen eye for detail
- Experience with DFM, FMEA, PPAP, automotive processes
- Experience with CAN bus, ethernet, RF cable assemblies
- Organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Industrious and curious – can drive tractors or willing to learn
- Ag-gnostic and hands-on – willing to walk up to a farmer, talk the talk, walk the walk and understand how their systems are used
