Job Summary
Electrical Engineer to design and develop electric motors for industrial and specialty applications. Responsibilities include designing motor electrical systems (stator/rotor, winding specs, magnetic circuits), performing electromagnetic analysis with FEA to optimize torque, efficiency, and thermal management, creating wiring diagrams and BOMs, supporting prototypes and validation testing, collaborating with mechanical, production, and quality teams, researching new technologies and materials, troubleshooting motor performance issues during development, production, and field use, and documenting design processes and test results. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 3+ years in electric motor design, experience with electromagnetic design tools (e.g., Maxwell, Motor-CAD), knowledge of electrical machine theory and thermal effects, familiarity with motor controls and power electronics is a plus, and strong analytical and cross-disciplinary communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree a plus)
- 3+ years of experience in electric motor design (AC, DC, synchronous, induction, or specialty motors)
- Proficiency with electromagnetic design and analysis tools (such as Maxwell, Motor-CAD, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of electrical machine theory, electromagnetics, and thermal effects in motor design
- Experience working with motor controls, drives, and power electronics is a plus
- Hands-on experience with prototype testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
