Job Summary
Electrical Engineer, Avionics Design responsible for end-to-end avionics development including full cycle PCB design, requirement collection, schematic design, component selection, layout, bring-up, test, and system integration for high-reliability avionics and mission-critical products. Collaborates across hardware, software, firmware, and test engineering to deliver PCB assemblies, FPGA-based processing, and power systems for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms; involves troubleshooting across electrical and software boundaries, development of power management, payload interfaces, wire harnessing, and interconnect diagrams. Requires experience with microcontrollers, mixed-signal PCBs, and common electrical bus interfaces (CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, RS232/422, RS485, USB), and the ability to navigate lab testing and flight-test environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex system designs
- Power system and electrical loading analysis, simulation, and testing
- Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMM, analyzers)
- Familiarity with CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, RS232/422, RS485, USB
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, including bring-up and design work
- Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and circuits
- Experience designing mixed-signal PCBs with multiple layer counts and proper grounding
