Job Summary
Design and develop medium and low-voltage electrical industrial power systems, including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, and variable frequency drives. Implement process instrumentation and control systems to optimize facility operations. Prepare comprehensive engineering studies, reports, calculations, designs, specifications, and construction cost estimates, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Manage designs throughout the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to information requests, and generating punch lists. Collaborate within a project team environment, coordinating with other disciplines and design team members. Establish performance parameters for electrical equipment based on project requirements and collaborate with equipment vendors to refine preliminary selections. Utilize industry-standard software and tools for electrical design and analysis. Work remotely on projects spanning water, wastewater, municipal, government, industrial, and commercial facilities.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- experience with the design and development of medium and low-voltage electrical industrial power systems, including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, and variable frequency drives
- Proficiency in utilizing industry-standard software and tools for electrical design and analysis
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in California, or ability to become licensed through reciprocity
