Electrical Engineer (6-Month Contract)

Job Summary

Design, develop, and test electrical components, equipment, and systems using computer-assisted engineering software. Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results to determine design approaches and parameters. Select components based on specifications, performance, and reliability requirements while supporting New Product Introduction, including electronic circuitry design and PCB layout. Debug interface circuits for customer applications, support product reviews for Electromagnetic Compatibility, and interface with Manufacturing Engineers on NPI and EMC requirements. Assist in resolving technical issues to minimize defects and develop new testing hardware and software for manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues within assigned projects
  • Experience in designing, developing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems
  • Ability to make technical decisions and recommendations based on established engineering practices and procedures
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of related engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
  • Experience with CAD circuit design software and circuit simulation software
  • Experience operating electrical test equipment (Voltmeter, Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Helmholtz Coil, Frequency Generator)
  • Knowledge of EMC design principles
  • Experience with Design and Process FMEAs
  • Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting
  • Strong customer-focused mindset with effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products: Altium, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)
