Job Summary

Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve electrical engineering issues while designing, modifying, and analyzing new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems. Prepare detailed calculations for three phase AC and DC power studies, short circuits, voltage drops, and protective relay settings, then draft engineering documentation for drawing production. Review work performed by others and generate clear technical reports meeting client and S&L formats. This hybrid role requires three days in the office and does not offer work authorization sponsorship. Candidates must hold a BS in Electrical Engineering with three years of project team experience in system design and analytical calculations. The team utilizes modern tools and AI to automate workflows and deliver cost-effective designs for clean, carbon-free energy projects.

Required Qualifications

  • A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 3 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design, or modifications or replacements of existing systems
  • Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
  • Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective working in teams and individual work
  • Detail oriented approach to work
  • This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in office

Desired Qualifications

  • PE license
  • MSEE
  • Experience with design and analysis of power plant and/or industrial structures
  • Construction and start-up experience a plus
  • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation
  • We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems
