Job Summary
Conduct electrical systems design for nuclear plant modifications, including preparation of complex calculations for load flow, short circuit, power flow, and system impact. Develop documented design inputs, equipment specifications, and design reports while collaborating on power distribution designs and major equipment procurement. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification. Apply modern tools and automation to solve engineering problems, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. No U.S. work authorization sponsorship available.
Required Qualifications
- A BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 3+ years of experience in the design of electrical power systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, or modifications or replacements for existing plants; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
- Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations
- Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
- Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Effective working in teams and individual work
- Detail oriented approach to work
- Must be able to travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs
Desired Qualifications
- PE license
- MSEE
- Construction and start-up experience
- Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
- Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation
- Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems
