Job Summary

Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve electrical engineering issues related to new and existing power plant systems. Prepare and review detailed calculations for three phase AC/DC power studies, short circuits, voltage drops, and protective relay settings. Develop project work plans and perform independent reviews of calculations and drawing preparation by others. Assist in ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget by preparing engineering documentation and reports that meet client and S&L formats. This hybrid role requires three days of in-office work per week. Candidates must be citizens of countries listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations due to potential access to U.S. export-controlled information. The position leverages modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and deliver cost-effective designs.

Required Qualifications

  • A BS in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program
  • 3 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, or modifications or replacements for existing plants; experience should include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
  • Experience is required with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), equipment selection, and analytical calculations
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
  • Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail oriented approach to work
  • This position may require access to U.S. export-controlled information. As such, candidates must be a citizen of a country listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Desired Qualifications

  • PE license
  • MSEE
  • Construction and start-up experience a plus
  • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation is valued but not required.
  • We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems.
