Job Summary
Design, develop, and test electrical circuits and systems for medical devices, including embedded systems, power management, and sensor interfaces. Perform schematic capture, PCB layout design, and component selection while considering manufacturability, cost, and reliability. Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electrical designs, identifying and resolving issues efficiently. Develop and execute test plans, analyze test data, and generate comprehensive test reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless product integration. Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and technical expertise. Ensure all designs and processes adhere to relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485) and internal quality system requirements. Support manufacturing transfer activities, including prototype builds, production test fixture development, and resolving production-related electrical issues. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of designs, analyses, and test results. Stay current with emerging electrical engineering technologies and trends relevant to the medical device industry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in electrical design and development
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Eagle)
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles, power electronics, and embedded systems
- Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and various communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, USB)
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electrical systems using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week
- Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the medical device industry or a highly regulated environment
- Familiarity with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485)
