Job Summary
Estimate fire alarm systems for ARK's customers by interpreting detailed plans, specifications, and drawings to calculate costs, time, and materials. Take-offs from drawings to determine device quantities, incorporate them into system proposals, and price labor and materials based on customer requirements and local/national codes. Maintain archives of bids, update computer programs with current pricing, attend site surveys with sales, and fill out material requisition forms. Requires high school diploma with three years of electric/electronic training and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of local and national electrical and fire codes
- Ability to read and understand contract drawings and specifications
- General electrical/electronic background
- Knowledge of installation practices and construction procedures
- Must have a positive and respectful attitude
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- 3 years of electric/electronic training
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of security, card access, and CCTV systems
- 2-5 years experience in estimating Life Safety Systems
- Previous experience in construction accounting
- Installation experience
- Prior construction experience
- Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above including Microsoft Office, Access, and other required third-party software
